Staying connected as alumni

The Alumni Association provides events for alumni and future alumni that will strengthen their ties to the University and to award scholarships to students. The Association encourages alumni, alumni constituent groups, and future alumni to become advocates and supporters of West Chester University.

The West Chester University Foundation engages donors and other partners to drive student success. The Foundation secures funding that helps West Chester University students achieve more.

The West Chester University Athletics Program has a rich and successful history in competitive athletics. We are members of the NCAA, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). Presently, there are 24 Intercollegiate Athletic Programs at WCU. We have one of the largest D-II programs in the country. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, indoor track, soccer, swimming & diving, tennis and outdoor track & field (n = 10). Women’s sports include basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, indoor track, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, outdoor track & field, and volleyball (n = 14). There is also a cheerleading squad. All told, in any given year there are over 550 student-athletes on campus, about 1 in 25 students

The Office of Parent and Family Relations is committed to ensuring that families are informed and engaged and have access to resources necessary to promote student’s success, beginning at New Student Orientation until graduation.

Individuals who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces, including a reserve component or the National Guard and any spouse or dependent of the Service Member is eligible to participate in and utilize WCU Greg and Sandra Weisenstein Veterans Center resources.

The Center for Civic Engagement and Social Impact (formerly the Office of Service-Learning and Volunteer Programs) promotes community-based learning experiences that address issues of public concern by building mutually beneficial partnerships and empowering students to be active citizens in their local, national and global communities. The office facilitates academic and co-curricular community service and service-learning programs that engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

In 2013, West Chester University announced its plan for the next decade in a document entitled, "Building on Excellence," to strengthen campus understanding of the meaning and value of external engagement and its impact on student learning and academic excellence. The Center for Community Solutions (CCS) is a community-university partnership and has been created to formally expand upon the positive impact the university has already had in the community. These collaborations will extend the University's impact within its home region, attract new resources to advance learning and community well-being, and focus on the pursuit of the public good.
