The Office of Wellness Promotion engages students in intentional educational opportunities to cultivate life-long learning and a community of well-being. Students are engaged around topics such as alcohol, nutrition, sexual health, tobacco, and well-being.
The Office of Wellness Promotion provides Wellness Coaching which is an individualized process that empowers students to explore and practice strategies to support their health and well-being focusing on the four s’s: stress, sleep, social support, and substance use. Coaching is a short-term, action-oriented tool to help students explore their strengths and personal motivations, identify topics they want to explore, and work towards their health and well-being vision utilizing sustainable strategies in a supportive environment.
Founded in 2011, the Center for Contemplative Studies has as its mission to create a culture for students, faculty, and the community to understand, apply and create a contemplative approach to life and learning. The vision is to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing within the West Chester University community. The Center will implement this mission by providing experiences and synthesis of contemplative practices; for individuals, educators, researchers and community service.
